Sunrise Portrait Session in Downtown Austin, Texas
I learned last December that despite wholeheartedly not being a morning person, I love sunrise photo sessions. The sun illuminates people a completely different way than it does at dusk. (Don’t ask me why, haha). Also, ever since we adopted our pup Martha, I’ve accepted my fate of waking up at 7 a.m. every day for the rest of my life, anyway, haha.
Also—pro tip: If you’re standing on any of the Austin pedestrian bridges, the sun rises behind the skyline. So if you’re looking to capture that glowy, sun-behind-you rim lighting, sunrise is the time to do it.
One of my best friends, Amanda — also, a repeat client ! — came to me with a vision for a sunrise shoot with the Austin skyline, to celebrate living in Austin for half a decade. It was a photoshoot she’s always wanted to do and I was more than happy to help bring her vision to life. I am so about photo sessions for the sake of celebrating yourself and where you’re at in life.
Our session ended up being a long time in the making thanks to Austin’s crazy weather this past month, but it was well worth the wait. Check out the final product:
