Aspiring Sommelier Portraits in Austin, Texas
If you know me, then you know that wine (yeah, OK, CHEAP wine) is a major component of my weekly diet. I am a champion of two-buck-chuck from Trader Joes and I have no shame in looking for the $5 bottles when I got to HEB or Target. (In college, I was also known for bringing wine juice boxes to parties. No shame!)
So I was pretty darn excited when a friend from church, Jenna, approached me about getting headshots taken because she had just passed her first exam to become a sommelier. She and her fellow aspiring sommelier, Annie, split one of my portrait sessions and we had an amazing time sneaking glasses of wine (for photo purposes only!) in the gorgeous Mueller neighborhood.
We started the session at the Stella Public House, where we bought the cheapest glass of wine possible, and took advantage of their gorgeous, natural window lighting and teal booths. Then we headed outside for some shots in front of greenery and the Thinkery’s iconic red wall.
I had a ton of fun with Jenna and Annie, and found it fascinating to hear them talk about wine and what they were learning to become sommeliers. (I was only a little ashamed of my love affair with cheap, sugary wine, haha.)
Check out some of the shots we got from the session:
